Who's Sewing What?

Sew you can see and share your sewing experiences.
I'll post pictures and you can share pictures as soon as I figure out how to let you do that.

Got more "J" feet than you can handle?

Got more "J" feet than you can handle?
Ordered extra feet or you combined the accessories from two different machines, and found that you have two or more feet marked "J"?

What trickery is this?
What's a beginner to make of this?
If you look real close you notice on each of these feet is a center mark which is normal. Each of these feet have toes.  #1 has a big toe to the right, little toe to the left and a black knob on the left. #2 has two toes with one single slit down the middle. #3 has a big toe to the left and it's solid metal.  These feet are all the same universal multipurpose foot. Why the difference?
Different foot designers!
It's just that simple.

Now,  you may wonder what that black knob is for on foot #1?
It's a bump jumper!  It's suppose to help with thick layers of fabric.

The Apple bed

Introducing "The Apple Bed"!
Invented it accidentally. I sat down after my last class to have a little something to eat and sat my apple on my hand warmer. Then it hit me!  If the dog can have a dog bed and the cat can use a cat bed, why not prevent bruising with an "Apple Bed"!  Handmade locally not sure about the apple?

Pick practical practice projects

I highly suggest when practicing you pick practical projects that you will use.
Like warm fuzzy fleece pajama pants. In 7 steps you can make pj's in time for bed.

Promise yourself

As I've said, "it takes courage to sew".
When you decide to sew, you will inevitably show your work to others.
If that first response to your finished piece isn't met with a hip hip hurray, promise yourself you'll keep sewing anyway! They haven't realized that you've poured your soul into that piece.
It will take them time to understand sewing and what it can do.
Wait until you can hem their jeans.
Then you'll get some worthy praise!

The all purpose Goodie bags

I seam to be fixated on an assortment of goody bags and their many many maker options.
Ya got yur quick bags yur satin bags, yur drawstring bags, yur ribbon tied and my favorite the cotton lined satin, double channel grosgrain ribbon tie bag.
That's a mouth full.
Anyway,  the plan is to make a variety and share them as thank yous and make them as gift packs.
